About me

You can call me Lola.
Lola Monte is the name I gave to the way I see things. People, places, food, celebrations. Different countries, different cultures, different ways of being together. After more than a decade behind the camera, I realised I was always looking for the same thing: character. I’m interested in people who know who they are, places with a point of view and projects that don’t need to look like everything else. I notice the obvious things, of course. But probably more often, I notice everything around them: the architecture, the table someone spent hours building, what’s being served, what someone chose to wear, the light changing, the conversation happening at the other end of the room.
I know how much thought — and how many people — can sit behind something that eventually looks effortless. I respect that work. And I photograph it.
My approach moves between observation and art direction. Sometimes I’ll step in, move someone towards better light, change what isn’t working or help create the image I can already see in my head.
Sometimes the smartest thing I can do is absolutely nothing. Just be there.
I’m not particularly interested in how things are supposed to look.
I’m interested in what makes them yours.
That’s where Lola Monte lives.

FAQ
Your questions answered
Do you travel for weddings and commissions?
Absolutely. Over half of my commissions are destination weddings. I handle all my own travel arrangements so you don't have to worry about the logistics.
How many images will we receive?
Every celebration and project is different, so I don’t work towards a fixed number of photographs. The final gallery is carefully edited to tell the story fully — without unnecessary repetition and without leaving out the moments that matter.
How do we secure our date?
Once we’ve discussed your plans and I’ve prepared your proposal, the date is confirmed with a signed agreement and the booking retainer. Everything is handled clearly from the beginning.
When will we receive our photographs?
You’ll receive a preview shortly after the shoot, followed by your complete edited gallery within the timeframe agreed for your commission. Exact delivery times are always included in your proposal.
Do you work with wedding planners and creative teams?
Yes — and I value that collaboration. I’m happy to work closely with your planner, venue and creative team before the celebration so photography is considered within the wider vision, timeline and experience.
Do you offer custom proposals?
Always. No two weddings or projects require exactly the same thing. Coverage, travel, additional events, editorial sessions and specific production needs can all be considered when creating your proposal.
